FNC premier team takes on Murwillumbah FC

FOOTBALL FNC's Premier Team of the Year will have the chance to show its skills against top quality opposition.

The side, which comprises the best-performing players from the 2013 men's premier division, is taking on Murwillumbah FC on Friday October 4 at South Lismore.

Recently announced at the annual Presentation Night, the Premier Team consists of the best players in each position from the FFNC premier league.

Murwillumbah has just completed a highly successful season in the Gold Coast Premier League, taking out the minor premiership without losing a match.

Player-coach David Lonie has a strong connection with FFNC after his association with Pottsville and several former local players now play with Murwillumbah.

"We thought it would be good exposure and a great way to promote the talent that comes out of the area," Leonie said.

"We're really looking forward to it" Lonie said.

Included in the powerful Murwillumbah line-up will be former Brisbane Strikers finisher Luke Morley, who won the Gold Coast Premier League Golden Boot this year.

Former locals with the side include Jaiden Walker, Joel Saye, Jordy Campbell, Ben Coulter, Moriano Kone and Ben Butler.

Walker is currently training with Brisbane Roar's youth side and looks likely to be contracted for the coming A League season.

The FFNC Premier Team will be coached by Thistles' Craig Kennedy, with Workers' Scott Collis assisting.

Likely starters are Max Harlan and Paddy Kable from Workers, Rovers Russell Dent and Matt Armstrong from Thistles.
