Floyd may help Rousey get back on her feet

RONDA Rousey has received a massive offer that may just save her UFC career.

Boxing great Floyd Mayweather has offered his services to the former bantamweight champion, revealing he is willing to help Rousey work on her stand-up game.

The olive branch has come after Rousey's embarrassing loss to Amanda Nunes in 48 seconds at UFC 207 last month.

Rousey was no match for Nunes - a vicious striker.

But the world's best pound-for-pound boxer might be able to change the equation.

"I'll work with (Rousey) if she's willing to work with me,” Mayweather told TMZ Sports.

"I don't have anything against anyone. I'm willing to work with anyone.”

Mayweather and Rousey have long been foes following a claim by UFC president Dana White that Rousey would towel up Mayweather if they ever threw hands.

Over the past couple of days, White and Mayweather have engaged in a back and forth war of words after the president's offer of $33 million and a split of pay-per-view profits to fight Conor McGregor.

Earlier this week Mayweather was full of praise and encouragement for Rousey, despite previously claiming he didn't know who she was, telling FightHype "a true champion can bounce back” and "everything will be okay”.

Mayweather did, however, question Rousey's decision to immediately jump back into a bantamweight title fight against an extremely dangerous opponent after taking a 12-month sabbatical following an early loss to Holly Holm.

"I think that her losing had a lot to do with time off,” Mayweather said.

"She maybe should have competed against another female MMA fighter that wasn't as active as the female that she faced.”
