Flights return to normal

FLIGHTS in and out of the Ballina Byron Gateway Airport are returning to normal this afternoon, as the volcanic ash cloud moves towards New Zealand.

Rex’s flight from Sydney arrived around midday with about 20 passengers.

A sold-out Jetstar flight is expected to arrive in Ballina at 4.20pm today, but Virgin Blue’s service was cancelled.

It is expected that all flights will return to normal tomorrow.
