Flicks in the Sticks and new toilets for Casino gardens
THE Casino Community Gardens have some exciting news about toilets.
They secured funding to construct composting toilets at the garden.
Member for Clarence Chris Gulaptis who was instrumental in approving grant application for the toilets, visited the community garden before construction begins.
The reason this matters so much is that public events such as the Flicks In The Sticks festival on April 9 are easier to host with the convenience of toilets on the gardens site.
For the first Flicks in the Sticks festival, Casino Community Gardens will be transformed into an open-air cinema and family festival.
There will be a swag of activities in the garden from 4pm until late, with entertainment and activities for families and young adults
There will be an outdoor movie screening of the PG-rated movie Inside Out and guests are invited to bring a blanket, cushions or a chair and wear warm clothes to enjoy this film under the stars.
Keeping the children entertained is part of the festival. There will be a petting zoo, jumping castle, face painting artists and an Easter egg hunt. (and you thought you'd finished eating all the chocolate eggs)
For the young at heart, there will be live local music and a silent disco. For everyone to enjoy, there will be games, amusement rides, raffles and prizes.
Market stalls selling locally produced food, produce and tasty snacks and refreshments will be in the gardens.
Casino Community Gardens invites everyone to join in the fun. Bring your family and friends, meet some new people and bring our community together. Entry is by gold coin donation.
Flicks in the Sticks is a drug and alcohol free event.
Flicks in the Sticks is a collaboration between Casino Neighbourhood Centre, Casino Angels, Lend-a-Hand and Playquest.
