Five arrested in Casino drug sting

FOUR men and a teenager have been arrested following two drug busts in Casino.

As part of police operation targeting drug supply in the Northern Rivers, police raided a house in Barker Street yesterday where they found methamphetamine and cannabis along with cash and drug paraphernalia.

Two Casino men, aged 23 and 30, and a 17-year-old were arrested at the scene and taken to Casino Police Station.

The 23-year-old has been charged with supplying a prohibited drug, possession of a prohibited drugs and possession of equipment for administering prohibited drugs, while the 30-year-old was charged with supplying and possessing a prohibited drug.

They were both refused bail and will appear in Lismore Local Court today while the teenager will be interviewed later this week, police said.

Polcie said this raid followed the arrests made last week following a search of a home in Johnson Street, Casino.

That search, last Tuesday, resulted in police finding methamphetamine and cocaine, as well as more than $1550 cash.

A 32-year-old Casino man and 36-year-old Kingswood man were arrested and taken to Casino Police Station that day.

Investigations are continuing.
