THIS time it's legit. The first band announced for Splendour in the Grass is Zulu Winter.

The UK band, who only formed last year, were scheduled to head to Australia for a gig in Sydney which has now been postponed; to coincide with their Splendour in the Grass slot.

Secret Sounds, the promoters of the festival, released a statement announcing that "after witnessing their scorching live show at SXSW (music conference), the Secret Sounds promoters have decided to keep Zulu Winter up their sleeve for a special Australian debut performance at Splendour in the Grass."

The promoters also postponed Lana Del Rey's Aussie tour which was scheduled for the end of February, sparking rumours the American songstress would play the July festival. The rumours have not been confirmed.

The only other act left on the promoter's tour schedule, ripe for postponement and the Splendour rumour mill, is Irish singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow who kicks off his Australian tour in Brisbane on April 5. At this stage there hasn't been any sign of a cancellation.

Splendour in the Grass returns to Belongil Fields, Byron Bay for the first time in two years on July 27-29. The full line-up is expected mid-April.
