First Ballina market of the year this weekend

THE first Ballina market for the year will be held on Sunday from 7am to 1pm at the Canal Rd market site.

You can enjoy breakfast and the music of the Ballina Shire Concert Band and the Sixties songs from Dennis Cuthel.

There will be stalls selling books, cards, fashion, gadgets, fresh produce, craft and plant stalls, and much more.

As the market has a large site, caravans, boats and cars are often offered for sale. A number of community groups regularly have stalls at the market both as a fundraiser and for advertising.

Site fees at the market are $15 and give the opportunity to hold an economical garage sale and perhaps make some cash from unwanted Christmas gifts without disrupting the home.

Organisers of the market, the East Ballina Lions, will accept donations for recycling of footy boots, used postage stamps, eye glasses, hearing aids, mobile phones and wool. Leave them at the Lions barbecue.

For site bookings, phone Andrew on 0408 166 419, Dawn on 6687 4328 or Wally on 6686 4546.
