Firies bring bushfires to heel
NSW Rural Fire Service crews have contained a fire at Frazers Gully, west of Kyogle, which had burned out of control since late last week.
"The fire ground is looking really good out there and (crews) are happy that the fire is now contained and they are going to continue patrolling it today," a Rural Fire Service spokesman said.
Fire investigators will today seek to establish the cause of the fire which has burned over an area of 1850 ha.
Crews have also burned about 6 km of a 12 km back burning operation to contain a fire at Mt Marsh, south west of Casino.
Crews have also conducted back burning operations on a new fire in a remote location north of Drake.
That fire has burned about 4100 ha but has not been classified of major concern.
A fourth fire, at Nicholsons Creek east of Tenterfield, has remained contained and has been monitored by Rural Fire Service crews.
