Firearms guilty plea

A NIMBIN man who fired an unauthorised and unregistered firearm with the intent to harm a woman will face Lismore Local Court on August 25.

Ian William Simpson, 50, was arrested by Nimbin police on the day of the offence, May 14, and charged with multiple firearms offences and later released on bail.

He has pleaded not guilty to using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, and firing a fire- arm in a manner likely to harm a person.

Simpson has pleaded guilty to using an unauthorised firearm, possessing an unregistered fire- arm and possessing ammunition without holding a licence.

His case was adjourned in Lismore Local Court yesterday because Simpson was being treated in hospital.
