Fire in Alstonville sporting clubhouse

FIRE fighters are calling for reinforcements to battle a blaze in a sporting clubhouse at Alstonville’s Jeff Watt oval.

A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman said Alstonville brigade were called to Jeff Watt oval on Ballina Rd after reports of a fire.

When fire fighters arrived they found smoke coming from inside the roof of the clubhouse.

Due to the nature of the incident, a pumper from Fire and Rescue NSW Ballina brigade was called to assist.
