A UTILITY has caught on fire on the Bruce Highway, causing massive traffic delays near the Caboolture exit.

Australian Regional Media's Newsdesk Editor Rae Wilson was driving past the fire with a colleague capturing it on video.

She said the northbound lanes of the highway had been shut down as firefighters battled the blaze.

"There is no traffic going through now.

"It is backed up for at least three kilometres and building,'' she said.

Firefighters were on the scene and putting out the fire which had completely engulfed the utility.

The fire happened just after 3.30pm.

There were reports the vehicle had rolled and another trailer was also involved.

Queensland Ambulance tweeted that one person had been taken to hospital in a stable condition.

There were a number of ambulance, fire and police units in attendance.

It comes after a fire earlier this month at the Morayfield service station which saw the area evacuated.

Seven fire units attended to the control that blaze which broke out in the early hours of the morning.
