Finch recalled after record partnership

Australian one-day opener Aaron Finch has been rewarded for his amazing 288 not out against New Zealand last week with a recall into the Victoria Sheffield Shield squad.

Finch was a shock omission from the Bushrangers' team for the opening-round win over Queensland, but responded in emphatic fashion in the practice game for the Cricket Australia XI against the Black Caps.

Paceman Peter Siddle drops out of the squad and will be 12th man for Australia in the first Test at the Gabba, while fellow quick James Pattinson has been rested, replaced by Chris Tremain.

The Bushrangers will take on New South Wales at the SCG starting tomorrow.

Ryan Carters, Finch's opening partner from the record Australian first-class partnership against the Black Caps, has also been recalled into the New South Wales team.

The Blues will be without Steve Smith, David Warner, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood, Peter Nevill and Mitchell Starc, all linking up with the Australian team in Brisbane.

All-rounder Sean Abbott will miss the match against Victoria with a calf injury.
Manly-Warringah's Jay Lenton will make his first-class debut for the Blues, while batsmen Ben Rohrer and Kurtis Patterson, fast bowlers Gurinder Sandhu and Josh Lalor, and off-spinner Will Somerville have been added to the squad.

Meanwhile, Shaun Marsh will captain WA against South Australia in Adelaide starting tomorrow, in the absence of Test batsman and regular skipper Adam Voges.
