Final few days to have a say on West Byron development

IT'S the final few days to have your say about the West Byron Development Control Plan.

It is currently on public exhibition and

submissions close at 4pm Friday, December 4.

A DCP is an outline of what happens on the site - for example where the houses,

roads and drainage go, how the site is staged (what gets built in what order), water

management etc. The Draft DCP is on Council's website .

"This is the last time you will get a say on West Byron," says Cate Coorey of Byron

Residents' Group. "After the DCP all the major decisions for the site are made and

anything else is just rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic."

"Community input into mitigating the impacts of this mega-suburb via the DCP is

essential. Byron Residents' Group has prepared some information that is available

on our website: http://byronresidentsgroup.org

"We urge people not to be intimidated by the Development Control Plan. Just make

your submission according to your concerns for the site.
