Ferris to take off in States
KYOGLE dirt-bike racer Dean Ferris will shift his focus to the United States after signing with the American Red Bull KTM Factory team for 2014.
Ferris, 23, has spent the past two years competing in Europe in the FIM Motocross World Championships.
"It's always been my dream to race in the US and I'm really excited about being given this opportunity," Ferris said in a team media statement.
"I'm especially excited about getting the chance to learn from (team manager) Roger DeCoster.
"I have a lot of learning to do, so I couldn't ask for a better, more experienced group to guide me through my transition into the US racing circuit."
Ferris will race alongside international stars Marvin Musquin, Ryan Dungey and Ken Roczen.
DeCoster won't be putting too much pressure on Ferris next season.
"I was very impressed with Dean's speed at the Motocross des Nations this year," he said.
"I'm interested to see what he can do in the outdoors.
"Having only just arrived in the US a month before the start of the Supercross season, the upcoming series will more or less be a learning season for him with higher expectations for 2015."
Ferris won his final race of the season in Germany with the Monster Energy Yamaha racing team.
