Fee for candidate breakfast dropped

LISMORE Chamber of Commerce has announced it will drop its usual fees for a special breakfast meeting aimed at introducing the local business community to the city's council candidates.

The chamber yesterday said it would devote next week's Breakfast Before Business meeting to an election forum, which would allow candidates in next month's Lismore City Council election to introduce themselves to the business community and allow audience members to question the candidates about their priorities.

The Business Before Breakfast meetings usually come with a charge of $25 for members or $35 for non-members. However, the chamber has this afternoon announced it will now drop that fee for next week's meeting and anyone who had already paid would have their money refunded.

Candidates wanting to take part in the forum should contact the chamber by emailing admin@lismorechamber.com.au or calling 0448 833 806.

The meeting will be held at Lismore Workers Club on Tuesday, August 14, from 6.45am to 9am.
