Favourite wedding song written in a heartbeat
WHEN I Found You is the latest single by Melbourne artist Jasmine Rae.
Three-time ARIA nominee and 2014 CMC Female Oz Artist of the Year Jasmine Rae released the song as part of her album Heartbeat.
When I Found You follows the Heartbeat album's opening single and title track, which became Jasmine's eighth number 1 single, going all the way to number 1 on both the official Australian Country Airplay chart as well as the CMC Top 30 Countdown.
Jasmine Rae said the song was written for the separate weddings of both her best friend and her co-writer.
"I co-wrote that song with Beau Golden, who plays keyboards in my band. He was getting married just recently and I wanted to write a song for my best friend's wedding," she said.
"Of course I left it until the weekend before... but I did not expect to put it on my album.
"I just wanted a beautiful and honest song for my friend Amber's reception. We have been friends since we were four years old.
"I actually moved my recording back so I could be at her wedding and be a maid of honour.
"I sang the song at her reception at around 10pm that evening and the next morning I was in a plane to Nashville to record the new album, so the song was still in my head so I decided to include it in Heartbeat."
At the Ballina RSL Club on Saturday, September 26, 8.30pm. $25. With special guest Matt Cornell.
