Favourite does it easily in cup

JOCKEY Glenn Colless timed his run to perfection in taking Rebounded ($3.20 favourite) to an easy win in the $28,000 Murwillumbah Cup (2000m) yesterday.

The six-year-old gelding scored by two-and-a-half lengths from Go Cart and Murwillumbah Cup Prelude placegetter Yummy.

Meanwhile, in the most exciting finishin years to a Murwillumbah Newmarket (1200m), locally trained mare Easy Play ($21) took out the $20,000 sprint.

The Gerald Ryan-trained four-year-old won in a photo-finish from Prince Lionheart by a short half head. Borsha’s Warrior finished a further length-and-a-quarter away third.

Easy Play charged home from well back in the field at the turn, gathering momentum in the last 100 metres.
