Farmers Association elects female

HISTORY has been made for the NSW Farmers Association, who elected their first female president yesterday.

Fiona Simson contested Charles Armstrong, who held the position for two years, for the presidency at the NSW Farmers Conference.

After claiming a win, Ms Simson said she wanted to get to the grass roots of the organization.

Ms Simson is a 47-year-old farmer from Quirindi.
