Farewell, so long and goodbye
IT'S a bittersweet moment that I write this article to advise our readers this will be my last edition as editor of the Richmond River Express Examiner.
The "mother ship", better known as the Northern Star, has called me back to work as the new digital producer for their online and social media format.
I have enjoyed the last two and a half years reporting on the happenings from west of the range, Kyogle, Casino and the mid-Richmond area.
It's been my privilege to meet and befriend so many wonderful people who make up and enrich each of the communities that I have worked with.
I've loved the quirky, proud-moment, informative, heart-wrenching, inspiring and wonderful stories many of you have shared with me to help create a truly local community paper.
Thank you also for your patience when I've missed the mark and for your encouragement and praise when you've enjoyed the paper.
My replacement is Evans Head-based journalist Jamie Brown, who is very familiar with the local area, having been editor of the Rivertown Times for a number of years and my replacement when I've been on holidays. Please make him welcome and continue to share your stories.
The local paper is only a reflection of the community behind it, which is why I was proud to be this paper's editor.
