Family mourns tragic accident

THE victim of Monday's bulldozer crash will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Doug Dorrough, 68, died at a property near Tyalgum after the bulldozer he was operating travelled down a large embankment.

The resident of Pumpenbil, near Tyalgum, spent his whole life in the area, Mr Dorrough's sister-in-law, Pat Dorrough, said.

“He was a well-known and well-loved person in the community,” she said.

“He will be missed.”

Mr Dorrough, who had 10 siblings, has left behind two children, Karen and Barry, and a large extended family.

“Doug was a loving brother-in-law anduncle of Anna, Tiana, Damian, Honora, Lewis, Judith and families,” said Mrs Dorrough, who married Mr Dorrough's oldest brother.

“They had great times with their uncle.”

A report is being prepared for the coroner on Mr Dorrough's death.
