Family fun and games the focus at Kyogle

THIS year's Kyogle Show kicks off on Friday October 9 with campdraft in the main ring while Saturday night's entertainment will see a demolition derby followed by monster fireworks, proudly sponsored by PRD Realty.

During the day there will be the animal-oriented children's entertainment Kanga Gang, along with the multi-talented Pitt Family Circus.

Of course there will be livestock judging and horse ring events on Saturday.

A highlight of this year's show will be the four day championship dog show - organised by the Kyogle and District Kennel Club - starting on the Thursday and running through Sunday. On each of the four days the four judges - two from Ireland and two from Thailand - will cast their practised eye over different breeds and each day they will rotate through the competitors, with a Best Exhibit In Show announced each day for four days.

"It's like having four shows in four days," explained show president Brian Eichmann, who also breeds stumpy tailed cattle dogs with his wife Fran.

Monster raffle

The Kyogle Saw spot and Kyogle Tractors have joined forces to create a monster raffle with fantastic prizes.

First prize is a Stihl chainsaw, second a Husqvarna brush cutter.

Third prize is a Stihl esky full of two-stroke oils and other products, fourth is a Husqvarna fuel and oil kit and fifth prize is a $50 voucher good for products at the Saw Spot.
