Families without Christmas hams after theft at butcher
A BUTCHER has been devastated by the theft of Christmas hams and other meats worth thousands of dollars the same day families were due to pick up their orders.
Nine hams, 10 legs of pork, six meat trays and about 10kgs of bacon was stolen from the Blue Mountains butcher in the early hours of Christmas Eve.
Video footage of the break in depicts a tall man in a dark hoodie forcing open a door and raiding a freezer.
Blue Mountains Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Mick Bostock said about $3000 worth of meat had been taken in the targeted break-in.
He warned anyone in the area being offered cheap meat that if it seems too good to be true "it probably is".
Investigations are continuing.
