IT has begun: Falls Festival Byron Bay has arrived.
Few rules to follow on site
THE music stars have arrived, along with the performers, crew, volunteers and workers for the The Falls Arts and Music Festival Byron Bay.
They have few rules inside the venue, but they take them quite seriously, so take note if you are attending North Byron Parklands:
- No BYO alcohol; they will be searching cars on arrival. If found with BYO alcohol both you and your passengers will be ejected from the festival site without a refund.
- No glass onsite.
- It's a total fire ban area.
- No recording. Please respect artists and do not record their performances. Still cameras are okay, for private use only.
- Please keep the internal festival roads clear for emergency vehicles and rubbish collection.
- Don't drink drive. There will be breathalisers available to test your levels.
- No animals or pets are allowed at the festival.
- Keep the site clean.
- Look out for others. If someone looks like they need help, notify staff.
- No drugs. Police and sniffer dogs will be in attendance at the festival.

Receiving massive love and critical acclaim around the world, tracks like Pedestrian At Best are already hitting the #1 spot on pretty much every Best Song of 2015 list, including Rolling Stone Magazine.
Barnett was nominated in eight categories at the ARIA Music Awards of 2015, and won four trophies: Breakthrough Artist, Best Female Artist, Best Independent Release and Best Cover Art for Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit.

RÜFÜS (also known as RÜFÜS DU SOL in North America) is an alternative dance group from Sydney, Australia, that consists of Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt.
Their debut album Atlas peaked at number 1 in Australia.
It was preceded by Take Me as the lead single in 2013.
Using layered synths, drums and warm vocals, Jon, James and Tyrone have built a soundscape and aesthetic that is entirely familiar, yet distinctly their own.

SETH Gabriel Marton, who performs as Seth Sentry, is an Australian hip hop artist.
On June 5, 2015 he released his second studio album, Strange New Past, which peaked at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
It was also selected as Triple J's feature album.
At the ARIA Music Awards of 2015 it won Best Urban Album. Marton grew up in Sorrento, a small coastal town in Victoria.
His stage name was inspired by the Marvel comic book superhero, Sentry. He is an avid gamer, sometimes referencing video games in his songs and posting YouTube videos in which he answers fan questions while playing video games.

Kurt Samuel Vile is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer.
He is best known for his solo career. Both in the studio and during live performances, Vile is accompanied by his backing band, The Violators.
In 2015, Vile released his sixth studio album, B'lieve I'm goin down....
Influenced by Pavement, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Tom Petty, and John Fahey, Vile began his musical career creating lo-fi home recordings.

BRISBANE'S Jarryd James Klapper is an Australian alternative pop singer-songwriter and producer who performs as Jarryd James.
In the wake of his debut single, Do You Remember, and the follow up, Give Me Something, Jarryd has scaled the dizzying heights of double platinum sales, heavy radio play, and sold out national tours in his home country.
On July 24, 2015, Jarryd announced the title of his debut studio album, Thirty One.
It was released on September 11, 2015 and debuted at number 2 on the ARIA Albums Charts.
In the US, a shortened EP was released, with the album Thirty One scheduled for a January 2016 release.
At the ARIA Music Awards of 2015, Jarryd won Best Pop Release for Do You Remember and received four further nominations.

ELLINOR Miranda Salome Olovsdotter, better known by her stage name Elliphant, is a Swedish singer, songwriter and rapper.
Elliphant released her second EP, titled Look Like You Love It, in April 2014 via Kemosabe Records and Mad Decent, featuring production from Dr. Luke, Diplo, Skrillex and Dave Sitek. It was followed by another EP, One More, in October, whose title track features Danish singer MØ.
Blisseh√ is Elliphant's mythical mascot / spirit guide and features prominently in her output.

Art vs Science

DISCLOSURE are an English electronic music duo consisting of brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence.
Their debut album, Settle, released on 3 June 2013 through PMR, was nominated for Best Dance/Electronica Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards.
Three singles were released prior to their latest album: Omen, Holding On and Jaded. Two promotional singles were also released: Willing and Able and Hourglass. The music videos for official singles from the album are interconnected and follow a story line.
They recently released a second studio album, Caracal, on 25 September 2015.

FOALS are an English indie rock band from Oxford, England formed in 2005, consisting of lead vocalist and lead guitarist Yannis Philippakis, drummer and percussionist Jack Bevan, rhythm guitarist Jimmy Smith, bassist Walter Gervers and keyboardist Edwin Congreave.
They are currently signed to Warner Bros. Records, and have released four studio albums: Antidotes (2008), Total Life Forever (2010), Holy Fire (2013), What Went Down (2015), one video album, six extended plays and nineteen singles.
The band's musical influences are varied, with the band members citing minimal techno, Arthur Russell, the Irish-based math rock band The Redneck Manifesto, Krautrock bands such as Harmonia.

GARY Lee Clark Jr is an American guitarist and actor based in Austin, Texas.
Clark's musical trademarks are his distorted guitar sound and smooth vocal style.
Gary Clark Jr began playing guitar when he was 12. Born and raised in Austin, Clark played small gigs throughout his teens.
His latest album, The Story Of Sonny Boy Slim, was released worldwide on September 11, 2015.
On November 5, 2014, it was announced Clark Jr was engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Australian model Nicole Trunfio. Their first child together, Zion, was born earlier this year.

BLOC Party are an English indie rock band, currently composed of Kele Okereke (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards, sampler), Russell Lissack (lead guitar, keyboards), Justin Harris (bass guitar, keyboards, backing vocals) and Louise Bartle (drums).
Bloc Party's brand of guitar rock draws on influences such as The Chemical Brothers, The Cure, Manic Street Preachers, Joy Division, Sonic Youth, Blur, and The Smiths. Okereke has also stated that Mogwai's album Mogwai Young Team changed his life by being his musical 'year zero'.

HIATUS Kaiyote is a future-soul quartet that formed in Melbourne in 2011.
Band members are Nai Palm on vocals and guitar, Paul Bender on bass, Simon Mavin on keyboard and Perrin Moss on drums and percussion.
In 2013 they were nominated for a Grammy for Best R&B Performance for their song Nakamarra, performed with Q-Tip.
The song appeared on their debut album, Tawk Tomahawk, released by Flying Buddha.
The band released their second album, Choose Your Weapon, on May 1.
Nai Palm described the album as an 'extension' of their debut.

MEGAN Sullivan McInerney, known by her stage name Meg Mac, is an Australian singer-songwriter and musician.
In Australia, she is signed to littleBIGMAN Records.
Last August Meg Mac achieved her first top 50 chart appearance with Never Be, which entered the ARIA Singles Chart at No. 39.
At the ARIA Music Awards of 2015 she was nominated for Best Female Artist for her debut EP MEGMAC and Breakthrough Artist for Never Be.

JUMPSUIT, combed hair, high-heeled boots and an attitude to match - they are all features of El Vez.
Robert Lopez, better known as El Vez, is a Mexican-American singer-songwriter and musician who performs and records original material and covers classic rock songs.
Lopez's main persona and style is very similar to that of Elvis Presley, as his stage name suggests.
However, he is not just an Elvis impersonator.
On his recordings and in his live show, he covers many non-Mexican artists, such as David Bowie, Iggy Pop, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, T. Rex, Queen and the Beatles.
