Fair is ‘bigger and better

SCREAMS of laughter filled the playground at Lennox Head Public School yesterday as youngsters celebrated the annual Spring Fair.

Special additions to this year's entertainment included the Rock 'n' Roll Roundup, which spun surprisingly fast.

Other highlights were the traditional tea cup ride, Bat Tower, giant slides and a jumping castle.

P&C spokeswoman Trenna Gillott said this year's Spring Fair was bigger and better than ever.

"Every year the fair is bigger and bigger," she said.

"But this year it is just out there - it's bigger than Ben- Hur. The Spring Fair is the school's major annual fundraiser. Last year we raised about $15,000, so we are really hoping to top that this year."

Baby farm animals were a hit with some of the younger children, as well as face painting and the opportunity to soak mates with some sponge-throwing.

Meanwhile Wollongbar Public School is gearing up for its fete, set to be held tomorrow from 10am to 2pm.
