Fair Go Festival is ready for take-off

THE Fair Go Skate Festival is on this Saturday and organiser Paul Scharka says it is ready to roll.

“The skate park extensions are done and it's all come together,” Mr Scharka said.

“The main skate events will be held during the day, and during the lunch break we'll have the side events.”

These include the biggest air competition, in which the winner will score themselves a free sky diving session.

Mr Scharka, of Truck Stop Sk8, and the festival committee have been working hard to ensure that this year's event runs smoothly and successfully.

“Tonight is our last meeting,” Mr Scharka said.

“We'll be sorting out the prizes. We have lots of skate gear from different suppliers and there will be giveaways on the day.”

Scott Standley, a former Ballina boy and one of the top skaters in Australia, also will be there.

It starts at 10am at Ballina Skate Park, adjacent to Missingham Bridge.
