Facial fix-up for fillies ahead of Lismore Cup day
THE women at Beauty Spot at Lismore Shopping Square are committed to making the fillies and mares off the track look their best on Lismore Cup day.
Tomorrow Beauty Spot will run a free make-up touch-up tent at the Lismore Cup where women can drop in when their lippy has been kissed off or they're feeling a bit the worse for wear.
The tent will be left of the main entrance near the food stalls.
Stacey Maslen from Beauty Spot said the make-up artists will be using Napoleon Perdis products and will have fake eyelashes to apply to those looking to feel best in show.
She said make-up is what makes an outfit on race day, so those who need help with re-application shouldn't be shy to pop by the Beauty Spot tent.
"It's all free and is an awesome way to come and get a re-touch after you've been racing around socialising," Ms Maslen said.
Beauty Spot is sponsoring this year's Fashion on the Field and suggests bright lipstick is the key to being on trend.
Those interested in being in the competition must register by noon in best-dressed male, female or couple categories.
Secretary-manager of Lismore Turf Club Scott Jones offered some advice for those more interested in what's happening on the track.
"There are a couple of really good horses in the race and the Ballina Cup winner (PlayitStraight) is in with a good chance," Mr Jones said.
He also said those who have no idea about having a punt but are hoping to pick a winner should "listen to the professionals".
There are free shuttle buses leaving from various locations in town from noon.
A bus timetable is available at lismoreturfclub.com.au/the-lismore-cup/.
