WHAT options do you have when you want your supercar to be extra special? Well if the Audi R8 isn't special enough, the German prestige carmaker will bring 10 'Neuburg Edition' models to Australia.
Developed specifically for the Aussie market, it's powered by a 5.2-litre V10 engine which pumps out 449kW and 560Nm. That makes it capable of reaching 100kmh from standstill in 3.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 330kmh.
To get one in your driveway you'll have to part with $402,500 plus on-roads. Each of the 10 models will wear an exclusive number.
The V10 is partnered to a seven-speed automatic trabsmission with all-wheel drive.
What makes this variant stand out from your run-of-the-mill R8 is the extra equipment.
Among the added extras are LED headlights with Audi laser light, 20-inch alloy wheels in gloss black, gloss carbon engine covers and exterior wing mirrors, as well as black fine Nappa leather upholstery with red diamond pattern stitching.
Inlays throughout the cabin are in gloss carbon.
Exterior colours are limited to four specific Audi sport colours for the R8 Neuburg edition (colour availability subject to build number), with red, black and grey all in metallic finish and 'Daytona' grey in pearl effect.
It's named after Audi Sport headquarters in Neuburg.
R8 Neuburg Edition customers also get a set of Bang and Olufsen H6 headphones with R8 badging, as well as a Samsung Galaxy Tab - preloaded with a gallery of images shot by celebrated Australian motoring photographer, Chris Benny Imaging, as well as the first locally produced 360 degree video of the Audi R8 in full flight at Victoria's Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
