Drunken ex-boyfriend takes anger out on vehicle

A RACEVIEW man, whose angry outburst had him punching his ex girlfriend's car, has been fined.

At Ipswich Magistrates Court, Roscoe Cameron pleaded guilty to one count of willful damage.

The 32-year-old father of two had been in a relationship with the woman for eight years, before they separated.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Jo Colston said at 4.30pm on August 15, Cameron arrived at the woman's home in Wulkuraka, intoxicated.

Sgt Colston said Cameron had visited his ex's house to pick up some property.

An argument erupted between the pair which escalated into Cameron punching the bonnet of the woman's vehicle.

Defence lawyer Amy Little said Cameron was angry and intoxicated at the time of the offence and regretted his actions.

Ms Little said her client was employed as a forklift driver and had no convictions for similar offences.

She said Cameron had experienced trouble with alcohol for a few years but had not had a drink since the offence.

Cameron was convicted and fined $500. No restitution was requested for the damage to the car.
