Cops called after fire destroys home

EMERGENCY services are on the scene of a house fire at Ewingar near Tabulam.

Lismore police Inspector Nicole Bruce said Rural Fire Service volunteers were called to the home on Ewingar Rd at 6.36am after reports a house was on fire.

Insp Bruce said when they arrived at the scene the volunteers found the home well alight.

"Nobody was home at the time and the house was totally destroyed," she said.

"Police are on the scene at the moment and are waiting for the fire to be fully extinguished."

Insp Bruce said crime scene officers would be called to investigate.
