Applications open for the Play Mullum competition

THE Mullum Music Festival has announced applications are open for the Play Mullum Songwriting Competition.

This year's theme is One Day Can Change Everything, and organisers have invited aspiring songwriters and performers to enter their original recordings for the chance to win prizes, including a performance slot at the 8th Mullum Music Festival.

The festival will be held from November 19-22.

Local musicians have the chance to perform for the festival's audience and rub shoulders and with some of the other exciting artists during the event.

Past winners of this competition have included Mullumbimby duo Two Lions (2013) and Ballina-born singer songwriter Dan Hannaford (2014), who both feature on the 2015 line-up.

If you'd like the chance to perform at Mullum Music Festival 2015, head to http://www.mullummusicfestival.com for full terms and conditions, and get your song entry in.

The competition closes on Monday, November 2, at 5pm.
