Enjoy a hot Latin date this weekend

BYRON BAY is expected to turn into a fiesta this weekend with the inaugural Latin Live festival.

The event includes a weekend-long list of dance workshops and a parties is set to hit this Valentine's weekend.

This Saturday, the main party at the Byron Theatre will feature live band Bombolaye from Brisbane, plus performances by professional dancers and Latin Djs.

Dancers Arturo and Madalyn will offer a funky salsa workshop to start the night and promise to dazzle the crowd with their show.

Also featuring over the weekend will be award-winning samba dancer Gabrielle Cardenas.

Then Latin DJ Julio Cardenas will play a selection of hot Latin rhythms to keep everyone dancing all night long.

Local dance schools Sassy Salsa, LaSalsa, French Conection Dance and Tumbao Latino Dance will be performing on the night.

The evening is designed to welcome people who are thinking on starting to learn Latin dance to advanced dancers.

This event will be presented by Picante Productions and hosted by Sky Blue, director of the Byron Latin Fiesta.

The weekend will feature dance workshops this Saturday and Sunday afternoon, with the chance to learn a number of Latin styles such as Cuban Salsa, L.A. Salsa, Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata and Kizomba.
