Enever brought in by the Brumbies

FORMER Sunshine Coast junior Blake Enever will make his fourth start for the Brumbies when they take on the Western Force in Perth tonight.

The second-rower replaces Wallaby representative Sam Carter, who has been ruled out for up to 12 weeks after tearing a medial ligament in last weekend's 22-16 win over the Bulls.

Enever's inclusion is the only change for the Brumbies, who must win the game to stay on the heels of Australian Conference leaders the Waratahs and remain in finals contention.

Christian Lealiifano will start at five-eighth for the ACT and Robbie Coleman at inside centre as Matt Toomua (foot injury) spends another week on the sidelines.

Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham is confident Enever will acquit himself well.

"Blake has been a solid performer all year and he has slotted well into that number five position during training," Larkham said.

The Brumbies have beaten the Force six times in their past seven clashes, including earlier this year and both games in 2014.

The Force has posted only two wins this year, both over defending champions the Waratahs.

The Western Australian franchise received a boost this week when their rampaging No.8, Wallaby Ben McCalman, re-signed to stay until the end of 2018.

In tonight's other game, competition leaders the Hurricanes will host the Highlanders in Napier.

Five-eighth Beauden Barrett returns to the Hurricanes' starting team, Blade Thomson moves to flanker and Victor Vito to No. 8, giving Brad Shields a well-earned breather.

For the Highlanders, Ash Dixon earns a start at hooker, and the captaincy, new father Elliot Dixon returns to No.8 and Gareth Evans goes to blind-side flanker.
