Emma aims to pick up a wildcard entry in Miss World contest
OUR own Casino girl Emma Savins managed to make it all the way to the Miss World Australia state finals recently held in the picturesque Hunter Valley.
While not making it to the national finals, she said she was pleased with the experience and what she was able to achieve.
"I would just like to ... personally thank all of the local businesses that supported my campaign," she said.
"We raised a lot of money for a good cause, Variety - The Children's Charity, Australia.
"It wouldn't have been possible without the help of family and friends and a huge shout out to everyone who came to the trivia night and high tea event."
Emma was up against 36 NSW state finalists where the judges took 50 minutes to deliberate on 11 NSW national finalists.
"There will be three wildcard spots for those who raise the most money for Variety between now and nationals in late July," she said.
"I will be putting my attention to local acoustic duo gigs with my band Cradle Of Rock."
Emma's gowns, from Julia Taranto of My Tailoress in Lismore, included a black lace punked pixie lace bodice with tulle skirt for the little black dress catwalk and a dress of hemp silk blend with silk tulle for the evening gown catwalk.
