Emily shows why she is No.1 seed

GUNNEDAH tennis player Emily Osmond had two big wins at the Junior Championships in Lismore at the weekend.

The number one seed took just 54 minutes to dispose of No.4 seed Veronika Marinova 6-1 6-0 in the 18 and under girls' singles final.

She also defeated No.2 seed Lara Tupper 7-5 6-3 in the 14 and under final.

Tweed Heads player Reid Feehan defeated the No 1 seed Nikola Crnokrak 6-2 6-4 in the 16 and under boys' final.

Suffolk Park player Louis Clark and his partner Teva Leibo lost the 12 and under boys' final 6-3 6-1 against Conor Dennehy and Sam O'Gorman.

The tournament attracted more than 100 competitors with many of the winners coming from the Gold Coast.

No 4 seed Tabera Bonteman did well to beat the No.1 seed from Lismore Daniel Stoddart 6-2 3-6 6-1 in the 12 and under boys final.

Alexander Crnokrak only lost two games at the tournament and took just 45 minutes to defeat Zac Mccann 6-0 6-0 in the 14 and under final.

The next big junior tournament in Lismore is the Open Age Championships in December.
