Investigation launched into fatal motorcycle crash

A MOTORCYCLIST has died in a crash, west of Coffs Harbour.

Police and emergency services were called to East Bank Rd, west of Coramba around 4.40pm where they found a man, aged in his 40s deceased at the scene.

Police said it appears the motorcyclist left the roadway about 700 metres from Coramba Rd.

The man was the only person on the motorcycle.

A forensic team has arrived at the scene and police have launched an investigation into the crash.

Officers are notifying family members and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
