Eclipse over the Northern Rivers: Photos

LOCAL photographers watched the eclipse on Tuesday in awe - and captured some wonderful photos.

As the moon passed across the sun as we view it from it from earth, those watching could see a 'bite' being taken out of the sun by the moon.

Luckily, for those who missed it, some local photographers have sent The Northern Star some of their snaps of the celestial event.

Australia was one of only a handful of places on Earth who were able to see the event.
