Duo to face court over vicious fight in Byron CBD

TWO men will face court later this month after a "frightening" fight in the Byron Bay CBD.

About 7.40pm Wednesday, two men, 35 and 38, were arguing and started fighting in Jonson St, acting Tweed-Byron LAC duty officer Sergeant Keough said.

Sgt Keough said police were called, and a number of witnesses - who were frightened by the fight - gave statements.

He said the two men injured each other, but no one else.

"One threw a bottle at the other," he said.

"They were both intoxicated."

Sgt. Keough said the two men were known to each other prior to the incident.

Both men were granted bail to appear in Byron Bay Local Court on October 23.

Their bail conditions state the men aren't allowed to have contact with each other, and cannot be intoxicated in the CBD.
