Drug dealer robbed at knifepoint

TWO Belgian nationals have been remanded in custody after they robbed a drug dealer at knifepoint in Nimbin.

The pair were arrested in Murwillumbah on Friday and appeared in Lismore Local Court today charged with robbery in company offences.

Police allege the duo, aged 19 and 20, robbed a woman at knifepoint after she attempted to sell them cannabis.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old Ballina man has been charged with a number of traffic offences after a high speed chase through the town last week.

After police attempted to stop the Holden Commodore in Norton Street, a pursuit ensued and police arrested the man in the Shaws Bay area.

He has been charged with drive in a manner dangerous, drink driving, driving while disqualified and breach of bail. He has been refused bail and will appear in Ballina Local Court on July 21.

Ballina police have also charged a 27-year-old for stealing a car from a Russell Street address.

The man was granted conditional bail after being charged with taking and driving a vehicle without the consent of the owner, self-administering a prohibited drug and possession of a prohibited drug. He will appear in Ballina Local Court on June 30.

And Woodenbong police have helped remove a dangerous black snake from a woman’s house on Mount Lindsay Road.

The snake, estimated to be about five feet long, was picked up from the rear of her house and relocated to an area away from the premises.
