Drowning baby off life support and coming home soon

A 14 month-old boy who was pulled from a dam unconscious on a property at Nimbin on March 10 is out of intensive care.

Police said after being on life support for several days the boy was now on the mend.

After having breathing difficulties the boy, who remains in Brisbane's Royal Children's hospital, can now breathe on his own.

It is anticipated he will be transferred to Nimbin hospital in the next few weeks for rehabilitation.
