Drive safe: The early morning fog is back
POLICE from Richmond Local Area Command have warned local motorists to be careful on our roads as the early morning fog that visits our region often has made a return.
"Please everyone, be careful on our roads. The early morning fog is back," police wrote on the Richmond LAC Facebook page.
"What does this mean? Visibility is reduced.
"What should you do? Slow down.
"What do you need? Your headlights on low beam.
"What else do you need? Patience.
"Should you cut corners? No.
"Should you overtake? Definitely not.
"Should you overtake on double lines? NEVER!
"Should you tailgate? NEVER!
"Should you be patient? YES! YES! YES!
"The word 'accident' is no longer used by police because there is always an associated factor as to why someone crashes.
"SPEED, FATIGUE, DISTRACTIONS and NOT DRIVING TO THE CONDITIONS are some of the associated factors.
"Please, we beseech you, SLOW DOWN.
"Is getting to your destination one or two minutes quicker really worth risking your life or the precious life of someone else?
"Think about it."
