Drink-driving twice in 2 hours
A MAN will appear in court next month after allegedly being caught drink-driving twice in the space of two hours.
About 3.40pm on Saturday, police stopped the 52-year-old Tingha man's Ford Falcon sedan on Tingha Road, Inverell, and submitted him to a road-side breath test which allegedly proved positive.
He was arrested and taken to Inverell Police Station for the purpose of a breath analysis, which returned a reading of 0.142.
The man was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for the offence 'Drive with mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA)' and his driver's licence was suspended, before he was released from police custody.
Then, at 5.05pm the same day, police allegedly saw the man driving the same vehicle along Guyra Road, Gilgai.
He was again stopped and subjected to a road-side breath test that returned a positive reading.
The man was arrested and taken back to Inverell Police Station for a breath analysis which returned a reading of 0.133.
The man was charged with 'Drive with mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA)' and 'Drive whilst suspended'.
He was granted conditional bail and will appear before Inverell Local Court on 12 April 2012 for both matters.
