Dressing up for Lismore's Miss Showgirl title
IMOGEN Duggan, 18, of Lismore, has been waiting for years to be crowned Lismore's Miss Showgirl.
“I've been riding horses in events at the show for the last six or seven years,” she said.
“I've always wanted to enter Miss Showgirl, but I was not old enough.”
Ms Duggan couldn't wait to fill out the entry form after turning 18 this year, and now hopes her love of the rural lifestyle will be the right stuff to impress the judges at next month's show.
Another country gal, Carina Cittolin, 19, of Rock Valley, also wants the crown. A legal secretary and paralegal student at Southern Cross University, Ms Cittolin said she would be a good ambassador for the North Coast because she knows farm life can be tough.
“I grew up on my parent's stonefruit and beef property at Rock Valley,” Ms Cittolin said.
Young women aged between 18 and 25 can enter Miss Showgirl by phoning 6621 5916.
