Don’t leave valuables in cars

POLICE are appealing for information after a BMX bike was stolen from the back of a ute at Lismore yesterday.

At about 1pm the owner of a black Toyota ute had a BMX in the back parked in the Lismore Square Carpark and went into the shops for 15 minutes.

While the owner of the Toyota was gone the BMX that was tied up in the rear tray of the ute was stolen.

Police have re-advised motorists to lock their vehicles and not leave valuables inside over the holiday period as thieves often target tourists' vehicles, particularly at beach car parks and local swimming holes.

Anyone with any information on the theft is asked to call Lismore police on 6626 0599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
