Discover transport options in the Ballina Shire

WOULD you like to know more about public transport and accessible transport options in Ballina Shire?

Pick up a timetable, find out more about accessible transport options or discover transport concessions you might be eligible for at the upcoming Ballina Transport Information Day.

It is on tomorrow and will be supported by the Northern Rivers Social Development Council, Tweed Byron and Ballina Community Transport, Ballina Buslines, Blanchs Bus Company, YAXI (Youth Transport Service), and Ballina Shire Council.

The council's road safety officer, Helen Carpenter, said it was an opportunity to find out about the options available across the shire.

"There is more than you would imagine," she said.

"There will be information on the many ways you can get to where you want to go and the associated costs."

This includes:

• Car pooling

• Community transport

• Cycling and active transport

• Public transport

• Bus timetables

• Concessions

• Taxis and taxi subsidy schemes

• Transport for health

• Transport services for Aboriginal people

• Transport services for young people (YAXI).

The transport information day will be held tomorrow, 9am to 3pm, at Ballina Fair shopping centre.
