Digging in at living food festival

FOODIES will flock to Mullumbimby today for the Mullumbimby Living Food and Soil Festival.

The event will be held at the Mullumbimby Community Garden, at the end of Stuart St.

A highlight of this year's festival will be the children's garden, which will include a tour with kids digging up the produce they've grown and getting it cooked for lunch.

Two experts will speak on permaculture, biodynamics, worms, compost and healthy living soil, and how to produce healthy living plants.

There will be a jumping castle, Dirtgirl giveaways, games, music and interactive demonstrations.

The Kitchen Garden Tour starts at 11.30am, followed by cooking from the garden at noon and a "little lunch" for the children at 12.30pm.
