Brandis diary stoush to head to court

A POLITICAL spat over access to Attorney-General George Brandis's electronic diary will soon hit the courts.

His opposite number, Labor frontbencher Mark Dreyfus will appeal the rejection of his Freedom of Information request to get copies of the diary.

Mr Dreyfus told ABC on Friday he would appeal the FOI decision to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, more than a year after his initial request.

The original application was refused because it would unreasonably use up to 40 hours of Senator Brandis's time, ABC reported.
