Detectives seek public assistance

DETECTIVES from the Richmond Local Area Command are seeking public assistance in their investigation of a home invasion at Drake.

A 67-year-old man was seriously assaulted and spent several weeks in hospital as a result of the attack, which happened on May 7, 2009.

Crime prevention officer, Senior Constable Michael Hogan, said police needed information about a late-model light-coloured four-wheel-drive vehicle, similar to a Nissan X-Trail.

Persons of interest include a woman in her mid-30s to 40s, with short blonde hair; a tall thin man in his 40s; and a man in his late 30s or early 40s, well-built and muscular, with short blonde/ginger hair and tattoos on his right arm.

“It is envisaged that members of the public may be able to assist police to complete this investigation,” Snr Const Hogan said.

“Detectives wish to identify these persons, who may be able to assist police in this investigation and are pursuing other lines of inquiry in relation to the incident.”

Investigators believe that one of the persons of interest lives in the Armidale area.

If you have any information on the Drake home invasion, please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
