Demonstrators protest ‘non-invasive testing

ANTI-CSG protesters will again rally in Casino today taking a stand against seismic tests being conducted by Metgasco.

More than 50 protesters first gathered near the Casino Primex site on Friday as Metgasco began seismic testing close to the sewage treatment works on Spring Grove Rd.

Metgasco planned three consecutive days of seismic testing in the area.

Protesters followed Metgasco workers from the sewage treatment works to Casino Airport, where the final tests are expected to be held today.

"People will maintain their vigil today keeping an eye on Metgasco activities and attempting to block access to operations," Adam Guise, a CSG-Free Northern Rivers' member said.

"We expect supporters to be coming in and out all day.

"Actions like this will continue until the NSW Government represents our region and declares it CSG-free."

Metgasco chief executive Peter Henderson said the tests were "non-invasive" ways of finding out about geological structures below the surface.
