Delays expected tomorrow on Pacific Highway

EXPECT delays on the Pacific Highway tomorrow around the Tintenbar to Ewingsdale upgrade, Roads and Maritime Services have said.

Controlled blasting will be carried out from 10am to 2pm on Wednesday at the St Helena tunnel, which could cause motorists some delays, they said.

The broken rock will then be excavated and taken away by heavy machinery for crushing and recycling for use on the project.

Traffic on the Pacific Highway can expect delays of up to five minutes between Lawlers Lane at Newrybar and Gulgan Road at Tyagarah during the blasting work.

Escort vehicles will guide both northbound and southbound traffic on the highway at a reduced speed on approach to the blast area.

Some vehicles may be required to stop at traffic control locations at either end of the traffic management zone.

Wet weather may change work dates and times, RMS also said.

Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and follow all signs and any directions given by traffic controllers.

If you require more information or have any queries, comments, or complaints, please contact the community relations team on 1800 882 787 (24-hour toll free), email them or visit the project website
