Lismore siege trolls have 'right to free speech'
I WAS disgusted with your editorial on Saturday in relation to your critical response of people expressing their right to free speech.
If you don't agree with the content that is fine, unless the comments were illegal, but you should have defended the person's right to make those comments.
If we don't have free speech then your job is in jeopardy as the media relies on the principle of free speech.
- Police strategy to 'contain and negotiate
- How the near 40 hour siege unfolded
- Tragic end to a shocking incident that gripped Lismore
You say comments on social media would be hurtful to the family and friends of the gunman.
That is a load of rubbish as the family and friends would have more pressing matters to attend to rather than reading social media.
You should defend the right to free speech instead of being critical of people expressing that right.
